Other Non-Invasive Procedures

1. Follicular Monitoring :

Follicular monitoring refers to recording the development of follicles, both number and size, and is done by transvaginal ultrasonography (TV-USG). Follicle monitoring with or without ovarian stimulation is performed before intra uterine insemination (IUI)/timed intercourse (TI)/in vitro fertilization (IVF). When ovarian stimulation is done with Gonadotrophins (injectables), monitoring starts around D7 but if oral agents (tablets/capsules) are used, monitoring is delayed till D11.

2. Timed intercourse (TI):

It is recommended for patients with ovulatory disorder. Following ovarian stimulation, monitoring & ovulation induction the couple is advised to have intercourse for next 2-3 ...

Minimal Invasive Procedures

1. Hysterosalpingography (HSG) / Dye Push:

This is a procedure where contrast media is pushed inside the uterine cavity through the cervical canal, by a canula in the radiology department. It is performed within 10 days of the menstrual cycle, but after the period stops, HSG helps to delineate the uterine cavity and to find out the patency of the fallopian tubes. We in our clinic do not go by the printed report of radiologists. We analyze the HSG plate thoroughy and try to find out patency through the nature of spill or dye, length of the tube, whether any coiling or kinking is there, and the tubo-ovarian relation (TOR), if possible.

2. Sonosalpingography (SSG):

This is another less invasive procedure, to ...

Semi-Art Procedures

1. Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI) / Sperm Push:

Intra-uterine Insemination (IUI) is a method in which the husband's semen sample is processed in the laboratory and deposited in the uterus of the wife, either in a natural cycle or with ovarian stimulation, followed by Ovulation Induction (OI). IUI is done near the time of ovulation, as determined from ultrasound monitoring. Females having cervical mucus (CM) hostility (unfriendly CM) or ovulatory dysfunction, or males with low sperm count and/or motility, or having ejaculation problem, may avail of this procedure for assisted conception.

IUI involves ovarian stimulation with Clomiphene Citrate (CC)/Letrozole from D3 – D7 and/or in combination with injections of hMG, as per the ...
